Exam Information
The Examinations Department is responsible for facilitating the External and Internal Exams, predominantly for Years 11, 12 and 13. The Exams Officer, Mrs T Dolt, also oversees all access arrangements for students who need additional support during examinations. She is assisted by Mrs V Smith, Assistant Exams Officer, and Mrs L Welshman, Exams & Access Administrator.
We use the following Exam Boards: AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC. These are subject to change but the current boards being used for students taking their exams in Summer 2024 are detailed on the following list: Exam Boards 2024/25
The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulate all external exams and they issue strict guidance that has to be followed. The following links provide information for candidates on the rules and regulations:

Student Wellbeing: It is recognised that exams can be a very stressful time for students; sleep and diet are very important at this time. The NHS link here provides advice around these subjects.
External Students: Unfortunately Ashlyns does not have the capacity to facilitate exams for the general public, however if you are an ex-student then we will try our best to accommodate you. Please contact exams@ashlyns.herts.sch.uk.
Certificates: We only hold certificates for 2 academic years after exams. Please do collect your certificates promptly and if you have lost your certificates you should contact the exam boards directly:
