Students in Year 8-13 had the opportunity of participating in a series of dynamic workshops led by aviation safety specialists Martin-Baker and organised by our Careers Team. The hands-on sessions gave students an insight into STEM career pathways and apprenticeship opportunities. Students had the chance to sit in a demonstration fighter-pilot’s ejection seat and also try out a scaled rocket-sled test track which reproduced the conditions of a full-scale ejection. The team at Martin-Baker commented: ‘The high level of engagement, the insightful questions and the polite manner of the students are all testament to the high standards at Ashlyns.’
