In December, Alex Chaplin, Head of Design at Dixons Carphone, joined us to deliver an inspiring careers talk to Years 9, 10 and 11 on graphic design and working in the creative industries. The session was split into two parts; the first included tips on how to become a Graphic Designer, the importance of sketchbooks and portfolios in the recruitment process and highlighted useful resources and industry software. The second part looked at the rebranding process of Curry’s, examining the typographical development of the logo and how it was designed to adapt to different platforms. This was an incredible opportunity for our students and we are very grateful to Alex for making this event possible.
