Sixth form dress code

Sixth Form students have some discretion to make certain choices about their working clothes, but are expected to set an example of smart appearance to other year groups and the local community.  The Sixth Form dress code is smart office wear and the requirements are as follows:

Girls

Suit — Tailored jacket with matching tailored skirt or full length tailored trousers. Cropped trousers or capri pants are not acceptable. 

Jeans of any colour must never be worn.

Please note:

• Shirt/blouse or smart top without logos, T-shirts are not acceptable.
• No excessively short skirts, no stretch or lycra skirts, leggings or shorts.
• Smart shoes (no trainers, sandals, flip flops or other casual shoes), no excessively high heeled shoes, boots may be worn in the winter months only.
• Vest tops and tops that reveal midriffs or which are low cut are not appropriate or suitable.
• Plain formal business dresses with sleeves may be worn, but, large bright prints and stretch or lycra dresses are not acceptable; all dresses must be worn with a tailored jacket.

Boys

Suit:   Tailored jacket with matching tailored trousers

Jeans of any colour must never be worn.

• Shirt with tie, denim shirts are not acceptable.
• Smart shoes (no trainers or other casual shoes)
• No shorts

All sixth form students

• Hooded tops are not to be worn at any time.
• Only ear piercing is permitted and there should only be one earring in each lower earlobe; no other facial piercings are allowed.
• Hair should be neat, a natural colour, not closely shaved or outrageous in style.
• A tailored jacket must be worn when walking around school, as well as for assemblies and other formal occasions.

* If they wish, both girls and boys may wear a smart, formal tailored jacket and tailored  trousers/skirt rather than a suit.

Any student who breaches the school dress code can expect to be sent home to change
