Extra curricular activities:
Duke of Edinburgh Award

Ashlyns School has a number of vibrant Duke of Edinburgh groups covering Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.

Students are invited to enrol for the scheme at the end of year 9 where they can begin working towards the four sections:

Physical, Skills, Volunteering and Expedition.

Students can progress up through to Silver and Gold Awards at their own pace although enrolment is generally in the summer for Bronze Award and September/October for Silver and Gold.

We run our own walking expeditions for Bronze and Silver and also offer more adventurous expeditions such as Kayaking for Silver and walking in mountainous terrain for Gold using external approved activity providers which are endorsed by the DofE.

Letters issued can be found on the main school website under recent letters and the majority of resources and information can be found on the official DofE website.
