A very big welcome to Ashlyns School from the Ashlyns School Association (ASA). The ASA is run by the parents/carers of pupils at the school and provides support at School events in whatever way possible and raises funds that can then be used to improve the School facilities.
The ASA has raised over £180,000 in the last eight years, thus contributing significantly to the development of the school and its facilities. Amongst other things, we have contributed the following:
· Over £20,000 for Sports Hall Equipment
· £10,000 towards acoustic boards and redecoration of the main hall
· Screen printing equipment for the art department
· Xylophones and Metallophones for the music department
· Books, DVDs and Comics in French and Spanish for the foreign language library
· Finance towards the construction of the BerkoAstro facility;
· A major refurbishment of the School Assembly Hall Stage;
· Provision of two minibuses;
· Dye sublimator and heat press equipment for the Textiles department
· Upgrading of teaching technology in all classrooms; and,
· A new sound system in the Chapel
The ASA puts together a programme of fund-raising and social events each year, we look at this at the first meeting back in September, so do come along and see what we get up to. Our first meeting in 2016-17 will be on Monday 19th September from 7.30pm in the board room.
Don’t forget to join the Ashlyns School Association Facebook Page and check the ASA section of the weekly ebulletin sent out by school to all parents.

The ASA also raises funds and provides services to the parents and school:
Second-hand Uniforms – If you need new or second-hand uniform it can be purchased from the school office throughout the year. If later on you have any outgrown uniform please hand it in at reception, and we will prepare it for re-sale. Please do not worry about the state of it – we can repair linings, remove paint marks, sew up seams, and if it is really beyond hope we will at least recycle buttons etc. The ASA team has raised over £1000 this school year.
Easy2name labels – If you are buying labels for school equipment or uniform please consider using Easy2name labels – www.easy2name.com. The labels are clear, durable, dishwasher and washing machine proof, and the company offers a fast and efficient postal service. Best of all, if you click on Ashlyns School HP4 when you make your online purchase, the school receives a commission of 20%.
Ashlyns Sports Fund Prize Draw – The Ashlyns Sports Fund Prize Draw raises funds to improve sports facilities at the school. These facilities are used by pupils at the school and the wider community. The prize draw pays out monthly to three lucky winners. An annual subscription costs £40, two years £75 and you can buy as many lucky numbers as you like!
Supermarket Vouchers – If you shop at Sainsbury’s, Tesco or Waitrose read on, as this is an ideal way to raise funds for the school, which is hassle free – at no extra cost to you! The school receives commission of between 2.5% and 8% (Waitrose) just by selling their supermarket vouchers to you, and therefore guaranteeing your business to that particular supermarket. It’s that simple! Again, there is an Application Form at the end of this pack.
Easyfundraising – This is similar to the supermarket vouchers scheme in that it costs you nothing, but is aimed at people who shop online at such stores as: Amazon, M&S, Argos, John Lewis, Comet, Vodafone, eBay, Boden and Play.com and you can use it for your weekly shop. You shop directly with the retailer as you normally would but you first of all register at: www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/ashlyns and use the links on the site to take you to the retailer’s site. When you shop in this way a percentage of the spend you make comes directly to the ASA.
